Our „Gasthof Rödertor“ is located right beside the historical Rödertor, the most splendid gate of the former free city of Rothenburg.
Join us and enjoy Franconian hospitality and traditional cuisine famous beyond the reaches of the city gates: you can enjoy delicious regional dishes of the season in our „Kartoffelstube“. And if you wish to stay a few days longer, we have spacious, comfortable guestrooms available where you can feel at home.
We are looking forward to your visit!
Our guesthouse is located near the historic Rödertor, right in front of the city wall of Rothenburg's old quarter. As a result, our guesthouse is easily accessible at any time.
The historic market square with its town hall embellished with arcades can be reached in just a few minutes on foot. The famous Jakobskirche (St. James' Church) is located only a minute from there.
Rothenburg has many sights: the Criminal Museum provides you with insights into the town's 300-year legal history or, alternatively, you can visit the historic vaulted cellar with the dungeons of Heinrich Toppler, the former mayor and most important citizen of the town. Exhibitions, plays and cultural events in the Toppler theatre or in the Korn cultural hall complete the program.
What is more, Rothenburg is famous for its medieval pageant which takes place each year on Whitsunday. The imperial free city days at the start of September also attract many outside visitors. The Cooking Ball in November is a culinary and social highlight.
We offer our guests special arrangements such as a "culinary sightseeing walk", the "Rothenburg Easter Egg" or hiking weeks - just ask us for further details.
